Chemcert Courses
ChemCert is looking to develop industry specific, short online courses and surveying our students to see if you would be interested in them.
These courses would be aimed at students who have completed the AQF3 course and then would like further information about their specific industry or specialist area.
Each course would take around three hours to complete and would have multiple choice questions to test student’s knowledge. Some courses may also numerous levels so once you complete the intermediate one, you can elect to move on to the advanced level course. After completing the course, you would be emailed a certificate of completion.

Courses to be released
Animal health
This course is aimed at users of animal health medicines in the AgVet sector. It aims to help workers understand the application of medicines from a best management practice perspective. It will give workers guidance on how to properly carry treatment on the farm taking operator safety into account as well as animal welfare.

This course is aimed at farmers who work regularly with livestock. The course will cover best practice management techniques for animal welfare, how to read animals movements and how to handle them safely for both the animal and operator.

Bush regeneration
This course is aimed at individuals assisting in the rehabilitation of weed affected or otherwise degraded areas to help provide a healthier ecosystem for native plants and animals. This course will provide knowledge and tools to help achieve the end goal of reinforcing or restoring a bushland systems natural regeneration processes.

Chemical storage and audit checklists
This course is aimed at students who need further information regarding chemical storage on farms and in workplaces. It will contain state legislation, best practice advice, storage information as well as audit checklists that the student can use while at their workplace.

Introduction to Drones
This course is aimed at land owners who are interested the use of drones on their farm. It will cover the utilisation of drones for several tasks including irrigation monitoring, insurance damage reporting, crop monitoring and analysis and crop health. Some drone management and flight basics will also be covered.

Grain storage fumigation
This course is aimed at farm owners who store grain on site. It will cover topics specific to the storage and treatment of common grain pests. It covers the management of unsealed storage, aeration, fumigation of sealed silos, pressure testing as well as best practice for the storage of seed and produce.

ntegrated Pest Management (IPM)
This course is aimed at all industries and students who would like further information on integrated pest management strategies. It covers acceptable pest levels, monitoring, different types of controls and preventative measures. Case studies for different industries will be used to demonstrate a successful IPM strategy.

This course is aimed to assist beef cattle and sheep producers in land and pasture management. Prograze is designed to improve the quality of grazing management decision making so they more efficiently and effectively achieve their production and market targets for livestock and livestock products while maintaining or improving the productivity and sustainability of their pastures

This course is aimed at users of broad acre spraying units and smaller boomspray units. It aims at providing better risk management techniques and considerations to ensure that every measure is taken to reduce off target damage.

This course aims to train students in the legislative requirements in transporting mixed goods in small vehicles and utes . The course will cover tips for securing loads, risk management, segregation and how to secure various types of items such as animal feed, chemicals and waste.

This course is aimed at users of cleaning chemicals or may use chemicals in their workplace. The course covers how to read the label, selecting appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) for the job and risk management strategies.
